Capnor has completed laser scanning at the Johan Castberg FPSO using one of the best laser scanners available on the market - the Leica RTC360. It was a great challenge for our surveying team to finish volume scanning of the whole ship in just under 3 weeks. This was possible due to the outstanding efforts of four Capnor surveyors cooperating on the ship at the same time.

Properly positioned Master Grid plates are essential for maintaining the structural integrity and functional performance of the FPSO in challenging offshore environments. The main frame of the Master GRID on the Johan Castberg was planned so that the ship's movements at sea would not significantly affect the accuracy of the Master Grid. This goal could be achieved by introducing a special post-processing adjustment.

Maintenance of the Johan Castberg FPSO can also be achieved by using cutting-edge volume scanning technology as a reference for all types of damage on the installation. Comprehensive technical visual inspections can be performed using our flag product, Ayelix portal, which provides access to over 3,600 high-resolution panoramic images from virtually every location on the ship.
