PROJECT DESCRIPTION
Norsk Hydro needed a 3D model of the complete terminal area, with a medium level of detail. This was mainly to be used for safety analysis, but Norsk Hydro also identified several other uses of the model. Specific areas of the terminal are to have add-on scanning for higher detailing.

A new system for terrain representation was developed for this project, where scan data is converted into accurate surface objects. This highly accurate model resulted in more refined gas flow analysis and better risk assessment for this site. Videos of the model are now part of Norsk Hydro’s plant electronic documentation, as well as the 3D model itself.
